The professional extra-large Kölner Gilders Cushion, also known as a gilders pad, is ideal for cutting genuine gold leaf and other metal leaf. Its large surface can also be used to stage up to six gold leaves for use with a Thorn Tip and is especially useful when working with larger imitation leaf.
Loose gold leaf is placed on the Kölner Gilders Cushion, where it can be gently cut with a gilders knife and then moved to the gilding surface using a Gilders Tip.
The cushion includes a thumb strap on the back for better control while cutting gold leaf and a windshield that helps protect delicate loose leaf from air currents. An additional strap on the underside provides a convenient place to hold a gilders knife.
This cushion will not lay flat on a table. The suede is of the highest quality and will not scratch or damage your gold leaf.
