This Basic Small Double Edged Gilders Knife features a polished stainless steel blade and is ideal for cutting genuine gold leaf and other metal leaf. When properly used with a Gilders Pad or Cushion, delicate leaf can be cleanly cut to the size or shape needed for your gilding project without tearing.
The wooden handle is securely attached by rivets to the polished stainless steel blade. The overall length of the knife is approximately 9.8 inches. The blade is approximately 5.5 inches long and 0.7 inches wide.
Before use, clean the blade with rubbing alcohol to remove grease and oils. Avoid touching or handling the blade after cleaning, as oils from your hands can cause delicate gold leaf to stick to the blade.
