Kölner Permacoll Size Red is a water-based slow size especially designed for gold and silver leaf. It does not require an activator and reaches tack in 15 to 30 minutes.
The advantage of Permacoll is that is has a long open time for applying the leaf, which can be applied for up to several days. Permacoll Size is formulated for gilding leaf on all types of nonporous, smooth or textured surfaces.
Permacoll Size is for indoor applications only and is not burnishable. It should not be exposed to weather or excessive wear. Genuine gold or silver leaf will not be as bright when compared to using Instacoll Base.
