Kölner KGGG Fond is part of the KGGG System which consists a Sealer Primer, Fond water-based gilders burnishing clay, and an adhesive. The KGGG Fond System replaces the time consuming traditional Gesso and Bole water gilding system while providing a beautiful and bright gold finish.
Some white fond is packaged in yellow bottles. The fond inside is White.
After priming and sealing, Fond is brushed on. Once the Fond is dry, a water-based adhesive (Colnafix or Colnasol) is brushed on before applying the gold leaf. When the gold leaf is dry, it can be burnished with an agate burnisher to increase the intensity of the shine. The smoother the surface is, the brighter the gold will look.
KGGG Fond is available in several colors, each which will change the tone of the gold. Different colors can be combined to achieve custom colors. 100ml bottles
Not recommended for copper, imitation gold or silver—consider using Permacoll HA instead.
