For those new to gilding or professionals who want to make their artwork more noticeable, Kölner Instacoll Kits provide an easy introduction to achieving a bright, burnished appearance without traditional water gilding or the use of a burnisher.
Each Kölner Instacoll Kit includes 50 ml of Kölner Instacoll Yellow, 50 ml of Kölner Instacoll Activator, one Kölner Tissue, a Taklon brush and instructions.
Choose a kit with 5 or 25 leaves of either 24k or 23k gold leaf. You can also order the kit without gold leaf and use your own leaf. Transfer gold leaf is strongly recommended.
The Instacoll included in the kit will cover approximately 5 square feet. A 5-leaf kit contains enough gold leaf to cover approximately 40 square inches with a small amount of overlap. A 25-leaf kit contains enough gold leaf to cover approximately 200 square inches with a small amount of overlap.
