Kölner Fine Detail Kit Information and Instructions

 

Overview The Fine Detail Kit enables precise gilding of ultra-fine lines and intricate details using Kölner Instacoll for controlled tack. Apply gold leaf cleanly with sharp lines and minimal waste on ceramics, paper, canvas, porcelain, and other smooth surfaces. Ideal for calligraphy, icon work, and decorative crack filling, producing a bright, smooth, burnished gold finish.

 

Ensure surfaces are smooth, sealed, dry, and free from dust and grease. Test on a sample before final application.

 

Application of Adhesive Size Select the appropriate needle nozzle for the desired line width. Apply steady, light pressure to create clean lines. Allow to reach proper tack, typically 20 minutes; wider lines may require up to one hour.

 

Applying Gold Leaf: After the adhesive size has set, place the transfer gold leaf onto the tacky surface. Gently apply light pressure to the back of the transfer paper with a Kolner tissue to ensure that the gold leaf has adhered well to the size. Then lift away the transfer paper leaving the gold adhered to your artistic drawing/writing. To obtain a brighter gold, after about an hour slowly and gently polish the gold with a Kolner tissue.

 

Cleaning Rinse applicator needles with water immediately after use. Use ethanol or isopropanol for dried residue.

 

Not food safe. Not dishwasher safe.
